A Greater Return on $6,000 Investment on His Wife
Mr. Balasubramanian Chithambaram entered the Mustafa Jewellery lucky draw and purchased jewellery for his wife around three months ago. Every month, a lucky customer at the jewellery store in Little India receives US$5,000.
However, Mr. Balasubramanian received a far greater return on his $6,000 investment in his wife.
The project engineer, who has worked in Singapore for 21 years, was chosen as the US$1 million grand prize winner on November 24. The grand draw was open to all consumers who spent at least SG$250. When the host of the lucky draw event video phoned Mr. Balasubramanian from the Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn, he was in a state of shock.
A Community Moment
“Today is also my father’s fourth death anniversary,” Mr. Balasubramanian said.
In response regarding his plans after winning, Mr. Balasubramanian stated that he would first inform his mother of his victory and use a portion of the proceeds to give back to the community as a thank you for his years of service in Singapore.
