A Greater Return on $6,000 Investment on His Wife
About three months ago, Mr. Balasubramanian Chithambara bought jewellery for his wife after entering the Mustafa Jewellery lucky draw. A lucky customer at the Mustafa Jewellery store located in Little India has the potential to win the monthly draw, which offers US$5,000 as the prize.
But Mr. Balasubramanian’s $6,000 investment in his wife yielded a much higher return.
On November 24, the project engineer, who has spent 21 years working in Singapore, was selected as the winner of the US$1 million grand prize. All customers who spent at least SG$250 were eligible to enter the grand draw. Mr. Balasubramanian was stunned when the host of the grand draw event video called him from the Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn.
A Community Moment
“Today is also my father’s fourth death anniversary,” Mr. Balasubramanian said.
Mr. Balasubramanian said that as a token of appreciation for his years of work in Singapore, he would first tell his mother that he had won and then use some of the money to give back to the community.
The sense of camaraderie this Grand Draw promoted was perhaps more amazing than the rewards.
